Always Include Your Keywords

Keywords are important, so make sure that it’s there in your ads. The keyword is there to grab the attention of a prospect – and if a person doesn’t see what he’s looking for in your ad, he might just skip it and look at others. You must also make the ads appealing and compelling. It can be difficult to create compelling ads on such a short space. It’s a waste of time, effort and opportunity, if you don’t include the keywords in your ads.

Making Use of Bidding Strategies – High to Low Bidding

Here’s a useful strategy for bidding, but first let me explain how Google ranks your ads. Google ranks your ad by two things, your bid price and your Click-Through-Rate (CTR). The CTR is the number of clicks your ad gets when it was shown. Being new to AdWords, your quality score is definitely low, so to be on the first page is more difficult . Thus, in order for you ads to show, you need to bid a litter higher than usual. Bidding higher gives you initial exposure your ads need. When your CTR is a higher, then you can slowly lower your bid price. You have to work within your budget and try to keep your ads within the first page without busting it.

Bidding from Low To High

This is another bidding strategy, complete opposite of the previous bidding strategy. This is very useful for keywords that aren’t so competitive or popular. If your budget is limited, you can also use this method. You begin by bidding low and then slowly increasing your bid price until you land on the first page. Again, you must try to land your ads on the first page with the lowest bid possible.

Use Negative Keywords

Negative keywords help prevent your ads from appearing in search results that are unrelated, else your ads can appear to audiences who are not your target. As an online advertiser, you have a specific target audience and you want your ads to appear in front of them. Sometimes, by not using the negative keywords, your ad can appear in an unrelated search term and in front of the wrong audiences. Let say you are promoting dog collar and a keyword you used is “collar”. When a searcher type in the word “collar” into the search engine, he may not be looking for dog collar. He could be looking for cat collar. So, you use “cat” as an negative keyword to prevent your ad from appearing. You should always put in a negative keyword so that your ads do not appear on unnecessary searches. This helps you target the necessary audience only, and helps increase your CTR more.

Test Ads

Testing ads is very important, you can do this easily with Google AdWords. In fact, you don’t have to do anything with Google AdWords at all when it comes to testing. By placing in two different ads in each AdGroup, Google AdWords then alternately displays the ads in search results. After running your ads for some time, based on the CTR results of each ad, you can choose which ad to use. If you have plenty of ads, you can continue the testing process until you find out which ad works best.

Everyday, Google display millions of ads online and if you plan to use Google AdWords, you need to do more to succeed. If you want to make sure that your Google AdWords campaign is successful, all you need to do is to know what is important. Follow these tips and continue to improve your knowledge Google AdWords.
